Into the void

It was a privilege to join the HE evening for fifty lower sixth formers last night and share a little of the Venture Your Self programme.

Faced with their first great transitional period of their lives, a quick show of hands demonstrated their feelings about the leap into their adult future:

1/3 were excited.

1/3 were terrified.

1/3 were both excited and terrified.

If we step back into the shoes of our seventeen year old selves, what did we feel?

Leaving school, writing personal statements, making applications to uni, doing exams, let alone anxiety of our future studies or work...

Do those feelings lurk within us today?
